Imagine pressing a “reset” button for your soul.
That moment when your shoulders drop. When your breath deepens. When your mind finally quiets. This is what awaits you in the forest.
Serenity Forest Walks exists to guide you into these moments of pure presence. Our gentle walks invite you to slow down, awaken your senses, and rediscover a world that's been waiting for you all along. Whether you're seeking peace, clarity, or simply a break from life's constant motion, the forest offers its quiet medicine.
We create experiences that change the way you see not just nature, but yourself. Every walk is an invitation to remember something vital that many of us have forgotten - how to simply be, fully present, in the natural world.
Come walk with us. Discover what happens when you give yourself permission to slow down, to notice, to wonder. The forest has stories to tell, if only we learn to listen.
Meet Your Guide
Hello! I'm Tracy, a forest therapy guide-in-training and founder of Serenity Forest Walks.
I discovered forest therapy through synchronicity, and it changed everything for me. As a mom and senior product leader at a tech startup, I intimately understand the whirlwind of modern life and our deep need to find our center. Through my own journey, I've discovered how nature teaches us to stay connected to what matters most.
It's an honor and a privilege to help others discover how the forest can center us, refresh our perspective, and bring harmony to all aspects of life.
Every forest therapy walk is an invitation to remember something we've forgotten - how to simply be. Let’s discover it together.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Think of a regular walk as moving through the forest, while a forest therapy walk is about letting the forest move through you. Unlike a typical hike, we slow down and engage with nature in a more intentional way. Your guide offers gentle invitations to explore the forest using all your senses, helping you discover aspects of nature you might normally walk right past.
-
Forest therapy walks offer numerous evidence-based health benefits. Regular practice reduces stress hormones, lowers blood pressure, and boosts immune function. Research shows mindful time in nature decreases anxiety and depression while increasing calm and wellbeing. The practice deepens our connection with the natural world, providing a vital break from our technology-driven lives, while improving sleep, energy levels, and concentration.

Not at all. Forest therapy walks are intentionally gentle and welcoming to all bodies and abilities. We move at a contemplative pace - think of it as meandering rather than hiking. There are plenty of opportunities to sit and rest, and you're always welcome to do what feels right for your body.
-
Most walks last about two hours, giving you time to truly settle into the experience. Just as your eyes need time to adjust when you walk into a dark room, your senses need time to attune to the forest. The length of our walks allows you to leave the rushed world behind and sink into a more natural rhythm.

Come dressed for comfort rather than performance. In Austin's climate, light, breathable layers work best. Wear comfortable shoes with good grip, and clothes you don't mind getting a little dusty on our limestone trails. Bring plenty of water (our Texas sun can be fierce!) and any personal items you might need. A hat, sunscreen, and a small bag for carrying essentials are helpful as the temperature can vary under the tree canopy.

We offer two different experiences for young nature explorers:
Traditional forest therapy walks welcome children seven and older, where we adapt the experience to engage young explorers while maintaining the gentle pace of forest therapy. We find this age group has the attention span and awareness needed to fully participate in the contemplative experience.
For our littler friends (ages 3-6), we offer playful forest adventures that honor their natural wonder and energy. These shorter wanderings let young children discover nature's magic through movement, imagination, and play - exactly the way they connect with the world best.
-
Each forest therapy walk is an invitation to slow down and awaken your senses. Your guide creates opportunities to discover the forest in new ways, but there's no pressure - you're welcome to participate as much or as little as feels right to you. The experience is about being present rather than covering distance, allowing the forest to be our teacher.

Not at all. If you can enjoy a gentle walk and are curious about connecting with nature, you're ready for a forest therapy walk. There's no special knowledge or skills needed - just come as you are. Your guide will offer simple invitations to help you explore the forest in your own way.
